5. Swelling in hands, feet and ankles
Kidneys that do not work properly, are a sign that they are unable to expel and excess fluids from the body. This results in the retention of sodium (salt) which aggravates swelling in the feet, hands, and ankle areas. However, keep in mind that swelling in these areas may be caused by other conditions such as leg circulation problems or liver disorder.
